Halloween Craft Projects

I painted these with DecoArt Americana Acrylics, my favorite acrylic paint. In fact, it’s the only acrylic paint I use. I simply love the smooth creamy texture, and well, when you are as busy as I am, finding a paint that covers without needing more than one or two coats is a real timesaver.

Halloween Slate:

This is a fun, quick project to paint. Make this Halloween Friends Slate and write a saying to greet everyone to your home!

You can also personalize it with your name if you wish. Add a jute hanger to hang it on your door, or a sawtooth hanger to hang on your wall.

Halloween Photo Frame:

It wouldn’t be Autumn without a trip to the Pumpkin Patch to select pumpkins! Paint this frame to show off your little cuties picking out their Halloween pumpkins. The sweeties in this photo are my grand nieces, aren’t they cute?

Witch Candy Dish:

Here’s a Witch Candy Dish made with Clay Pots. Spread candy in the saucer for your favorite Trick or Treaters. Can’t you just see this as a table centerpiece?

Enjoy, and Happy Autumn!

NEW! My Projects for Baby’s Nursery

Check out my newest projects!

I’ve been busy creating a vignette of Baby Nursery projects.  The nursery grouping includes a Duck Gift Pot made from a clay pot, a painted peg hanger, wall canvas, monogram letter name, duck theme photo frame and a painted duck onsie. I wanted to do something bright and cheery, so I chose a cute little duck theme and painted it in yellow, turquoise and light sage green. But remember, you can change the colors eaily to another combination….dark pink, light pink and yellow, sage green, lvory and yellow, or beige, blue and yellow….the combinations are endless!

Archiver’s Scrapbook Wrap Up

Well, we did it! Made it though the busy, busy mega weekend of Make-it-Take-it participants at Archiver’s Scrapfest in Minneapolis. In three days, we taught 2100 to 2200 projects. I can’t give you an exact number, because we were prepping extra projects to fill in each day. I’m probably under estimating our numbers. I’ve never seen anything like it! WOW! Mark Richards Crystal Stickers Rhinestones and Crystal Stickers Pearls absolutely ROCK! I hope all you fabulously creative scrappers agree!

Archiver’s sure puts on a great show, and it looked like everyone had a great time. We received lots of compliments on our Mark Richards Enterprises Crystal Sticker card projects, and the fact that we kept our line moving quickly.

I enjoyed meeting so many of you, and hope you visit the blog and sign up for my 14 Weeks of Prizes Contest. Who knows, YOU may be the next lucky winner! Which reminds me, I need to post a few more winners, and their prizes. Check back middle of next week to see who won!

I’m headed back home tomorrow, and will be sewing all week, working on the sewing program I can’t tell you about yet! And, I’ll be working on the Christening Dress for my grandaughter Katie’s christening. I’ll try to post pictures of it – I’ll be hand smocking again for the first time in about 25 years. The last time I smocked, was to make a dress for Katie’s mom, my daughter Laura. I hope I still remember everything. I’ll be sewing on a brand new Janome Memory Craft 9500, can’t wait!

Stay tuned for lots of project how-to’s I’ll be posting on the Scrapfest projects later next week. Till then, here are some pictures to peruse from Scrapfest.

Happy Crafting,

Jean

Scrapfest was a flurry of activity, and a blast of color and creativity. Beautiful blooms from Prima were just a sampling….

Consumers choose their Prima flowers for a scrapbook page….so many choices!

I so love Little Yellow Bicycle Papers! Look at these clever pinwheels and cupcakes from their new Cupcakes paper line……..yummy!

Here is Lori Marek from Little Yellow Bicycle. Thanks Lori, for getting me paper for our Mark Richards card project. The consumers loved your Free Spirit Paper!

When you love what you do, it’s a joy to teach. Here are two demonstrators from Hero Arts. What great smiles, they are lovin’ what they do!

Here’s David Ross at Doodlebug. What a happy bunch!

Check this out at Unity Stamps – a very crafty Unity Stamp dude showing the Make/Take project. Ya gotta love it!

Graphic 45 was our neighbor and they also had a really busy Make/Take.

Here are Julie and Patt at the Mark Richards booth showing consumers how to use Crystal Stickers Rhinestones and Pearls. Can’t you tell they are having fun?

And here is our guest appearance by Julie McGuffee!

Julie McGuffe, host of Scrapbook Memories is showing scrapbookers how easy and fun it is to make beautiful cards with Mark Richards Crystal Stickers Pearls. Julie always has great tips to share, and showed everyone how to get 3 cards from one piece of scrapbook paper. Want to know how? Just visit Julie’s blog and she’ll have a tutorial posted in a few days.

Greetings from Scrapfest – We’re Making Cards!

Well, this week I’m at Archiver’s Scrapfest in Minneapolis, teaching card projects. The response to the projects has been overwhelming! We did over 800 Make/Take card kits on Friday, and over 750 on Saturday! Today looks like it is going to be just as busy. Patt Bell did a great job prepping the kits, and Julie McGuffee, Host of Scrapbook Memories (and my business partner) is doing some guest spots in the booth. The scrapbookers are lovin’ working with Crystal Stickers Rhinestones and Crystal Stickers Pearls! I’m going to share a couple of pictures, and will update later today when I get a spare minute. Oh yeah, of course Julie has been telling everyone that the projects on the booth display boards will be on the web site, so I guess I’ll have to photograph those today.

Here are some very happy scrapbook buddies who we let make their project an hour before opening – we hate lines too! Stay tuned for more pictures!

Here is a picture of my friend Patt Bell, teaching the make-it take-it.

We have another Craft Prize Contest WINNER!

Our latest winner is…….

Rachel

Rachel, I’ve emailed you for your complete name and address so I can get your package of goodies out to you, so please respond ASAP. For my other winners, your packages are ready to mail on Monday – so give ’em a few days to get to you, and you’ll have some crafty goodies. And Izzy, I haven’t forgotten you, as the first person to sign up on my blog, your prize will be shipping on Monday too!

Rachel won 5 bottles of DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paint, two packages of Woodsies Wood Shapes, 3 Loew Cornell Paint Brushes and a few other goodies! Rachel, you’ll have everything you need to create these Holiday Ornaments posted here on the projects page http://www.justcraftyme.com/projects/.

And, I’m going to give away some MORE STUFF. An extra prize for a lucky winner, but you’ll have to do a little detective work. How about a duplication of Rachels prize to the first person who emails the answer to:  “where did Jean grow up?” Hint: It’s in the “About Me” category.

Email your answer to the question to me at jean@justcraftyme.com – first one to email the correct answer wins. I’ll announce the winner here, soon I hope!

In the meantime………
