Woodsies® Holiday Ornaments

Holidy Ornaments
Supplies Needed:

  • Woodsies® Too! Wood Shapes XXL and XL (Circles, Oval, Squares, Hearts)
  • Woodsies® Small Wood Stars
  • Woodsies® Wood Spoons
  • Woodsies® Jumbo Craft Stick
  • Woodsies® Mini Craft Sticks
  • Loew-Cornell® American Painter™ Paintbrushes (1/2” Shader, #3 Round)
  • DecoArt® Americana® Acrylic Paint: True Red, Snow White, Ebony Black, Mistletoe, Cadmium Yellow, Tangelo Orange
  • Felt: Yellow, Red, White and Lime Sparkle
  • Beacon Kid’s Choice® Glue
  • Pink Powder Blush
  • Heavy Duty Craft Thread
  • White 1/8” Ribbon

Instructions for the Angel:

  1. Paint 2 XL heart wings Snow White and 2 small stars Cadmium Yellow. Paint 1 XXL square body and sleeve part of 2 mini craft stick arms True Red.
  2. Paint Ebony Black shoes on the bottom of 2 spoons. Dot Ebony Black eyes on circle. Let paint dry thoroughly.
  3. Glue wood spoons (legs) to back bottom of square and head at top front of square.
  4. Glue craft stick arms to body as shown in photo. Glue a star in hand and a star on body.
  5. Glue heart wings at back of body.
  6. To make the hair, cut four 1/4” x 5” strips of Yellow felt. Glue one strip around edge of head (from ear to ear). Tie remaining strips of felt into a tight bundle, then glue bundle to head. Trim hair as desired.
  7. Make a ribbon loop hanger, then glue to back of head.
  8. Rub cheeks with Pink powder blush.

Instructions for Oval Snowman:

  1. Paint XXL Oval Snow White. Paint mini craft stick and top 1/3 of oval Ebony Black.
  2. Dot eyes and mouth with Ebony Black. Paint a Tangelo Orange carrot nose on face. Let paint dry thoroughly.
  3. Glue craft stick hat brim across hat area. Rub cheeks with Pink powder blush.
  4. Cut a strip of Lime Green felt for the snowman’s scarf. Wrap the glue scarf around base of oval. Trim scarf to desired length, then cut fringe in ends of scarf.
  5. Make a ribbon loop hanger, then glue to back of head.

Instructions for Tree:

  1. Paint 1 XXL and 2 XL triangles Mistletoe.
  2. Dot the triangles with True Red dots. Let paint dry thoroughly.
  3. Glue the triangles to the jumbo craft stick as shown in photo.
  4. Make a ribbon loop hanger, then glue to back of tree.

Instructions for Snowman with Star:

  1. Paint XL circle, XXL Circle, 2 spoons, and 2 mini craft sticks Snow White. Paint small star Cadmium Yellow.
  2. Dot eyes and mouth with Ebony Black. Paint a Tangelo Orange carrot nose on face. Let paint dry thoroughly, and then rub cheeks with Pink powder blush.
  3. Glue spoons to back bottom of largest circle. Glue smaller circle head at top of body. Glue arms to circle as shown, then glue the star in snowman’s hand.
  4. When glue is dry, cut a Red felt scarf for snowman. Wrap, then glue scarf around neck. Trim ends as needed, then cut fringe in ends of scarf.
  5. Make a ribbon hanger then glue to back of head.

Instructions for Snowman with Square Hat:

  1. Paint XXL Circle Snow White, XL Square and mini craft stick Ebony Black.
  2. Paint small star Cadmium Yellow.
  3. Dot eyes and mouth with Ebony Black. Paint a Tangelo Orange carrot nose on face.
  4. When paint is dry, glue square to top of head, then glue hat brim across hat.
  5. Rub cheeks with Pink powder blush.
  6. Make a ribbon hanger, then glue to back of head.

Hi Jean,
This is a totally AWESOME blog/website! I love it!
It inspires me to get back to some stuff that I love to do. There just aren’t enough hours in the day. Does it take you long to get everything on your site that you want and need to? By the way, how long until you can tell me about your sewing project? I can’t wait to see what you have been working on. Lauren just moved back home….that is another whole long story, but all is good! Hugs and Blessings from your friend. Hope we can connect again sometime soon.
